CCLM Fellows

Can memory training boost children’s achievement and intelligence? To what extent is the development of a child’s motor skills correlated with learning in general? These are just some of the questions that the Center for Cognition, Learning and Memory (CCLM) is investigating. Scientists in the fields of psychology, neurology, psychiatry and related disciplines are working at CCLM, which is one of seven strategic research centers at the University of Bern.

With support from the Jacobs Foundation, doctoral students at the Swiss Graduate School for Cognition, Learning and Memory are conducting research projects related to human learning and memory. The first cohort of CCLM Fellows has focused on the following topics:

  • Motor performance
  • Executive functions and early mathematics achievement in children
  • Memory training to improve the cognitive functions of school-age children who were born prematurely
