25 years of the Jacobs Foundation

“I believe that investment in the future of young people is by far the most important of the many investments I have made in my career as an entrepreneur.” The Foundation’s founder, Klaus J. Jacobs, recognized that education both in and outside of school is crucial for a successful start in life. This is why the Jacobs Foundation since its establishment more than 25 years ago, has sought to promote education, particularly in early childhood. All of the projects we support, whether research- or practice-oriented, share one goal: improving the lives of the current generation of young people as well as generations to come.

In selecting its projects, the Foundation takes an evidence-based approach and seeks to combine scientific insights with practical applications. Measurable and replicable results are critically important. Moreover, projects must be demonstrably innovative and interdisciplinary, and they must produce a sustainable impact.

Successful project work requires cooperation and expertise from a variety of sources. Accordingly, the Jacobs Foundation collaborates with internationally recognized individuals, institutions and organizations, without which the Foundation’s complex projects all over the world would not be possible. Our special thanks go to the partners who have collaborated with us over the past 25 years.
